Query by Vincent Milone: Which 35mm slide/negative scanner should I get? 5MP or seven.3MP?
I’ve been looking at these two,

which is 5MP

and

which is 7.3MP.

The 5MP scanner has much more a ton far more evaluations. Each have four stars. But I’m considering the seven.3MP 1 is much better for creating enlargements. I’d like the one with the best quality, even though each sound somewhat mediocre.

So basically 5mp far more testimonials or seven.3mp less evaluations?

If you are significant about your photography or want to make enlargements, you will not be delighted with either of these. These “scanners” are truly digital cameras with inexpensive optics and illumination systems. In most circumstances, they give you extremely lower image high quality that is OK for sharing on areas like Facebook but that is about it. Forget prints, you will not be happy if you are even somewhat significant about your photography.

The greatest value in slide and film scanners these days is the Plustek line. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=plustek+opticfilm&N=&InitialSearch=yes But I will warn you that there is a little a lot more effort involved in scanning with these scanners vs the camera form. The advantage is that you can generate really huge prints and large top quality digital images with these scanners. I’ve noticed prints as big as 20×40 created from negatives that had been scanned on these scanners.
